Purpose of this Social Network.

U.B.E.R. (United Buyer's Exchange Resource) started out as an idea in Entropiaforum. The idea is quite simple. Work together with other avatars in the Entropia Universe to trade things to one another so that everyone involved benefits in some way. The original idea was mainly to get myself associate with more and more consignment shops and programs, and that has been a success, but it also has to do with getting those with surplus items or overstock on certain types of items a way to trade what they have too much of to others at TT prices in exchange for what they would like to have... It's sort of like a freecycle in the Entropia Universe... except, of course everything has a TT price usually, so you pay or get paid TT prices when you trade what you have too much of for what you want more of... With consignment deals, usually, TT price is paid at time of delivery and more later, after the consignment shop owner or program sells their stuff and makes a profit - profits get shared in consignment deals... Dead Man's Plunder Shop in Port Atlantis Mall is one consignment shop that I work with a lot that does that sort of thing. STTS (Smart Trade Terminal Solution) is another type of program that does consignment deals that I work with a lot. I actually like STTS enough that I became an investor in it. They buy stuff at TT price, sell it, and pay back 70% of profits to whoevery they original paid TT prices to to get the stuff they sell... That's a much higher percentage of profits than most other programs of its kind in Entropia.

The reason this Social Network was created is that the Social Group in EntropiaForum has some major limitations (the social group was only one thread essentially - so it was hard to track a lot of topics and various discussions... forums here will hopefully help with that sort of thing)... We are in hopes that this network site will help us break out of those limitations and do more.

I WILL leave the United Buyers Exchange Resource (U.B.E.R.) social group on Entropia Forum open at this time since it is, was, and always will be invite only, private group... so you now have the option of posting your deals or needs in here for the public and in there for a smaller, private only audience, if you ever have a need of something like that. I've never run across someone that needed to keep stuff private only, but will leave that group there just in case someone does have a need for it at some point in the future... just shoot me (avatar name mastermeh on entropiaforum) a pm over there and I'll invite you in to that group if you are not in it... then you can post that you are doing a private group listing there in here, so people reading here that don't normally read there will know to go there if they are a part of the group to see your deal... Like I said, most folks have no need to keep stuff private, but I assumed some might want that option when I first started that group, and I think there still may be that need for some offers down the road that need to be private (mainly for those castigated by the rest of eu society for whatever reason or setting up some secret deals they don't want anyone except a small number of people to know about, etc.). Usually private deals are set up in PMs over there or in in game talks... but on some rare occassion, there could maybe be some need of privacy or something for some deal... so that group stays open for now. Anything in here is totally open to the public...

Ning's Limits... I think Ning only lets us have 10 gigs of space + 100 gigs bandwidth free... so please, NO VIDEOS or too many pic uploads, PLEASE! We don't want to exceed our freebie limits. Thanks.

I think file hosting is the least of concerns nowadays, in case hosting space for files is needed, we can use stuff like ImageShack or MediaFire or any other that doesn't suck and has decent bandwidth limits. Anyway, I'm glad U.B.E.R. finally has its own site! :)

I just discovered this. Its a fantastic idea.
I had a very similar idea which I tried to implement within a society but I discovered that there are a lot of people that would much prefer to sell to the TT than take TT value off a player. I finally gave up. I hope this has a different result and offer any assistance desired.
